Shiatsu

Shiatsu, meaning “finger pressure” is an ancient Japanese healing therapy. It uses much of the same energy points as acupuncture but instead of needles, pressure is applied using thumbs, palms and forearms as well as some stretching and mobilisation of joints.

The aim is to disperse areas of excess energy and replenish areas of deficiency, resulting in bringing the body back into balance. It’s a deeply relaxing therapy where the client remains fully clothed as there’s no use of oil. Shiatsu is particularly effective for clients experiencing pain, stiffness, digestive issues, menstrual problems, headaches, insomnia, anxiety and depression as it addresses not just the physical but the mental, emotional and energetic bodies too.
